Duluth, MN Wedding Photographer | Steph and Todd | Clyde Ironworks
Bright sunshine. Cool breezes. Heart-warming love. Easy laughter. Steph and Todd’s Clyde Ironworks wedding was filled with so many moments that I’ll take with me forever.
Each bridesmaid chose their own style and color of knee-length muted pastel tones.
Their rings were custom made at The Jeweler’s Bench from pieces of an agate Todd found on the shores of Lake Superior. Steph and her bridesmaids carried bouquets made from hydrangea, roses, dahlias, and stock in soft tones of pink, lavender, cream, and green. Is it me, or could Todd be a 1940s movie star? Steph chose an amazing dress, with classic elegance that still felt fresh. Lace, a sweetheart neckline, and a train. She looked stunning, but still completely comfortable. There’s nothing like the anticipation of seeing the one you love for the first time at your actual wedding. You realize this is truly happening, that your journey has brought you to this moment, and there’s no turning back now. I love Clyde Ironworks as a venue for a variety of reasons, including the vintage character, the natural light, and also the variety of indoor options that it offers for chilly days like this one. Steph and Todd wanted to focus on their love and the commitment they were making to each other on their wedding day, not on crazy timelines that had them running all over town, causing stress. Being able to relax and enjoy their day was very important. They wanted to keep things simple, so we used a variety of locations in and around the venue for wedding party portraits. Moments before walking down the aisle, Steph and Todd were able to connect and spend a few moments talking, smiling at each other, holding hands. Steph beamed walking down the aisle. The ceremony, officiated by her brother, was short, but oh-so sweet. While guests enjoyed cocktails, we snuck out for a few extra moments alone. I love capturing portraits of the bride and groom shortly after the ceremony. They are so relaxed, you can often see a visible lightness in their demeanor. Guests dined on a pasta buffet, and a spread of handmade apple and French silk pies. Dancing ensued. Eyes were dampened. Once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale. Steph and Todd’s began on 4.4.15.
